Connect with South East Asia 2.0 ( Gender & Sexuality )：Residency Onsite & Online

Connect with SEA (Gender & Sexuality): Residency Onsite & Online is a project organized by Thinkers’ Studio (Taiwan) and co-organized with Dance Nucleus (Singapore), Pineapple Lab (Philippines). It aims to start the conversation of gender & Sexuality  issues in society by building a platform to support the younger generation of artists who focus on Gender & Sexuality   creations or research, by gathering a group of artists to develop or adapt ideas and collaborate internationally and also to find the similarity of gender issue artists from three different countries working closely in Southeast Asia. The second year of the project also hopes to further  deepen the creative network among SEA and by gathering creative support and administration resources from the co-organized.  

The pandemic has brought limited travel and global movements, and “online” has become the new model for international exchange and connection. In this project, through being online, the whole residency process and experience can be more accessible to the public, opening the possibility to share, connect and communicate between artists, professionals, organizations and people in different parts of the world. It also seeks to initiate new ways of international working under the pandemic.

Our aims:

• Taiwan serves as a connecting hub, to organize and discuss social/gender issues
• Reduce travel risks during the pandemic and make the best of online features
• Take gender issues as the core of the creative companionship

• Start Communication
• Make Generation Connection 
• Create Collaboration Possibilities and Networking
• Experiment the new way of online & onsite and international residency projects
